Cookie Policy
Last updated: 19 May 2026
This page lists every cookie and local storage item set by devsort.net, explains its purpose, and tells you how to manage your preferences. For the full privacy context, see our Privacy Policy.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by websites you visit. They are used to remember your preferences, measure site usage, and in some cases track your activity across websites. Local storage items serve a similar purpose but are stored differently in your browser.
We split cookies into two categories: essential (required for the site to work correctly) and analytics (used to understand how visitors use the site, loaded only with your consent).
Essential cookies and storage items
These are set regardless of your cookie preference. They do not track you for advertising or analytics purposes.
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
devsort_consent | Local storage | Stores your cookie preference (“all” or “essential”) so the banner does not reappear on every visit. | Persistent (until cleared) |
devsort_preloader_shown | Session storage | Prevents the animated preloader from replaying during the same browser session. Cleared when you close the tab or browser. | Session |
Analytics cookies (consent required)
These are only set if you click “Accept all” on the cookie consent banner.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga | Google Analytics 4 | Distinguishes unique visitors. Contains a randomly generated identifier. | 2 years |
_ga_[ID] | Google Analytics 4 | Stores and counts pageviews for the specific GA4 property. | 2 years |
_clck | Microsoft Clarity | Persists a unique user ID so Clarity can stitch together sessions from the same visitor across different visits. | 1 year |
_clsk | Microsoft Clarity | Connects multiple page views in a single visit into a single Clarity session recording. | 1 day |
What about Vercel Analytics?
We use Vercel Analytics for basic traffic measurement. Unlike Google Analytics, Vercel Analytics does not use cookies — it uses a server-side approach that derives aggregate metrics (page views, visitor counts) without tracking individual users or setting any cookies on your device. No consent is required for this service.
How to manage your preferences
You can change your cookie preference at any time by clearing your browser’s cookies and local storage for devsort.net, then reloading the page — the consent banner will reappear.
You can also manage cookies directly in your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies. Note that blocking essential storage items may affect how the site works (for example, the preloader animation may replay on every page load).
To opt out of Google Analytics across all websites, use the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
To opt out of Microsoft Clarity, visit clarity.microsoft.com/optout.
